Details:
After seeing the Project Nightflight image of Venus on December 3rd, I decided that on the next clear night I would try to image the planet myself. I've recently relocated from the UK to Aranjuez, near Madrid, in Spain. Although Venus was very faint to the naked eye it was clear on the images. The most amazing thing though, as shown in image 4, was that the sky was so clear we could see Venus all the way down to the horizon - a range of mountains 50 miles away ! Canon EOS 550D - kit zoom lens at 300mm, ISO 800 - 12800 (using 'magic lantern' firmware upgrade) handheld at 1/800 sec
