AR12209 can now be easily seen by eye through a solar filter. But a more dramatic view of this active region can be seen with the use of a Ha solar scope. Details: Double stacked external SM90 Etalons fitted to a William Optics FLT98 scope + BF30 filter + 2x Powermate + DMK51 video camera, image converted to negative format and then colorized.
