Details:
I set up my camera for a series of 25 second exposures at Sullivan Lake in northeast Washington State, hoping that the auroras would make a showing before the moon rose. After a 1 hour nap I woke up to see that the camera had captured the northern lights bubbling on the horizon, along with two meteors. When I combined the 150 exposures, I realized the north star was perfectly centered, making for a nice scene reminiscent of Van Gogh's Starry Night.

Jealous! I used to live in NE WA (Malo, just N of Republic). Was there only for a couple of years but I looked for auroras all winter. Often there was a green fringe just at the horizon, It was during solar minimum, but I always had hope (sniff) :)
