Details:
We viewed the partial solar eclipse from a fishing pier in Avon Lake, Ohio, along the south shore of Lake Erie. A good-sized crowd had gathered and watched excitedly as Moon slowly encroached upon the brilliant solar disk. The late-day event ended early, however, as the eclipsing Sun sank, not colorfully into lake waters, but into a cloud bank.
