Details:
Here are a few extreme close ups of this large active region with a variety of wavelengths. The first is a white light image with 5m focal length using a six inch refractor and Baader Wedge. The second image is in Calcium K light with the same instrument and reveals massive calcium plage all around the spot. The third image is in Hydrogen alpha with my Lunt LS100.
