Details:
We gathered at Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, MI and were able to see the beginning of the eclipse until right before the sun set when it reached maximum. The sun spot added a spice to the whole ordeal, and we were able to view a lot of the solar prominence through the Coronado solarscope. Can't wait for the big one in 2017! I used an Orion 6" telescope with a solar filter. Pictures were taken with my Nexus 5 smartphone through a 25 mm lens in the telescope.
