Details:
My beautiful wife and I are enjoying our honeymoon at 66 degrees north. Tonight we had our first clear skies of the trip (we arrived on the 15th). We took a northern lights tour through a company called Reykjavik Excursions and we had a good chance of seeing them. The tour guide said we had a 5 out of 9 on the solar activity scale (although the en.vendur.is shows a 4). I brought my Nikon D3100, 18-55 Nikkor Lense, and a basic tripod on the trip and was able to capture the northern lights. These pictures were taken at Thingvellir, which is 40 minutes driving outside of the city.
