Details:
Incredible display tonight. Lasted 7 hours! Not even caused by a solar flare CME but actually by a transition across a fold in the heliospheric current sheet. This is called a "solar sector boundary crossing".
We had a bright half moon but that didn't stop the Aurora tonight! We had needles, waves, curtains, coronas. We had it all!!
Amazing night!
