Lunar Eclipse – Brisbane 8th October 2014 Okay – managed to dodge the clouds which didn’t look as if they would let me in for a look at this glorious cosmic event. I set up the telescope none the less and just after totality, as the Moon was departing from the Earth’s shadow, a big sucker hole opened up and I managed to rattle off a few shots – phew! I was using a Vixen 4inch F9 telescope with a Kenko x1.4 Converter to give me a focal length of 1280mm at F12.6. Here is the result of blending 4 frames (ISO 800 – 10 secs, 5 secs 2 secs and ISO400 – 10 secs). The longer exposures managed to reveal some of the background stars. Cheers Dennis
