Details:
I am fighting a cold, and I was awakened because of a sore throat. I thought I might as well go outside to see if I could observe the eclipse. I had not intended to because we had rain all day yesterday and it was not clear that the eclipse would be visible. I got outside just as the moon entered Earth's penumbral shadow, and I got to see the whole show. It was glorious! In this photo, the moon is at totality. The diagonal light fringes emanating from the disk of the Moon is aesthetically effective, and may be due to detector overexposure.
