Details:
Using the ruler by Guy Buhry and correcting for the curvature, we obtain an estimate of the filament length of: 550 000 km, one of the largest Hα filament recorded in history. (Using the same technique, our estimated length of the previous super filament of August 31 is 400 000 km. Note that the monster filament recorded in August 6, 2012 had a length of 700 000 km!)
