Details:
This was Wednesday night, Aug 27, from the dark skies of Grasslands National Park in Saskatchewan. I shot Mars and Saturn in conjunction (at right) as they set into the southwest, followed by the star clouds of the Milky Way. I shot this scene before the sky got truly dark, while the sky was still lit by the blue of late twilight. The photo is a composite of two exposures, one tracked to follow the sky and one untracked to provide the sharp foreground, of the old corral of the 76 Ranch in Grasslands National Park.
