Details:
Sometimes you just get lucky. You're set up and ready and suddenly, something happens. But most of the time you're not. So I was about 3 hours early on this one. At around 15:00 UTC there was a small, slow flare in AR2148. Unfortunately, no pics from me.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
