Details:
Only three little sunspots were on the surface of the Sun on the 19th July, in the Hydrogen Alpha wavelength you can also see no activity on the surface…its very very quite, but all around the limb there were some lovely prominences, particularly a large one on the western edge (to the top right of the image). This must be the solar flare that Karl Kramer captured the following day on the 20th July from the NT in Australia called Sunflares Lost In Space ☺ The white light image was taken with a Canon 7D and 100-400mm lens with a 2x converter and solar filter attached, 12 images were stacked in RegiStax6 and lightly processed in PS, exposure was 1/1000th second and ISO 320. Ha image taken with a 80mm Lunt solar telescope and Canon 7D camera and 2x Barlow lens, 15 images stacked in Registax6. There are two images stacked for a composite, one for the surface and the other one for the faint gaseous prominences.

Please note that the large prominence was on the Eastern limb not Western edge as stated, sorry about that...Noeleen
