The moon. Tonight is the 19th night of the East-Asian traditional lunisolar calendar, in which every month starts on the New Moon day. In old Japan, the 19th-night Moon was called Ne-machi-dzuki (Lie-down-to-wait Moon), because the Moon appears so late that one lies to wait for the moonrise. 17th night: Tachi-machi-dzuki (Stand-up-to-wait Moon), a moon appearing when one stands up to wait for moonrise. 18th night: I-machi-dzuki (Sit-down-to-wait Moon), a moon appearing when one sits down to wait for the moonrise. 19th night: Ne-machi-dzuki (Lie-down-to-wait Moon), a moon appearing so late that one lies to wait for the moonrise. 20th night: Fuke-machi-dzuki (Late-night-to-wait Moon), a moon rising later and appearing at a deeper night. Nikon COOLPIX P510 digital camera (no telescope); ISO 400, F5.9, 1/100s exposure, f=1000mm
