On an evening adventure out with my Dad............ Driving around taking pics in our neighborhood............ I spotted a young calf that I thought looked quite sad............ And asked if we could stop right there, that'd be good............ Dad pulled over by the fence of the Buttercup Pasture............ And soon after a neighbor or two passed us by............ They're quite used to me by now to be sure............ And figured I was taking pictures of the critters or sky............ In fact I was taking a photo of a scene that couldn't pass............ For the calf that I saw was not as sad as he had seemed............ He was following a horse that was peacefully chomping grass............ And just like he was with his Mama Cow this calf just beamed............ The horse didn't seem to mind having a sidekick............ And though pretending not to kept a watchful eye............ The horse moved slowly along the edge of the creek............ Keeping pace to keep the little charge close by............ The sun had set and there was a pink rising Moon............ In the sky with purple streaks and deep blue Twilight............ The light would fade and night would fall soon............ And the little calf Mama's Cow was nowhere in sight............ We watched for a few minutes by the road fence line............ Then bid the silly critters good night and good bye............ We could see the little calf would be safe and just fine............ For that horse calf-sitter would watch over the li'l guy.............................If you had trouble reading this, I apologize it wouldn't keep my returns nor extra spaces...visit http://picsbylis.com/blog/ if you want to read the lines in their proper setting. Thank you kindly.
