Details:
Seeing conditions were better than average the morning of July 7th, and AR 2109 & 2108 were quite photogenic -- I just had to drag out all the gear for an extended imaging session in three wavelengths. Details -- Orion ED100/900 telelscope, APM Herschel wedge, DIY CaK module, and Coronado SM90/90/BF30 filters, Televue 2 x barlow, cooled PGR Chameleon. Processed with FireCapture, RegiStax 6, iMerge, PaintShopPro. Seeing 3/5 Transparency 9/10, winds W 0-5 kph, Temp 25 C. All images are two-pane mosaics taken at an EFL of 1.8 meters. Top image continuum @ 16:02 UTC shows the photosphere, middle image CaK @ 16:17 UTC shows the photosphere and lower chromosphere, bottom image H alpha @ 16:33 UTC shows the mid to upper chromosphere.
