Details:
I have finally decided to get the C11 (280mm) SCT outside for a short solar astrophotography. And a good choice I might add. The view of the current Earth-facing sunspot groups was fantastic despite of very few good seeing moments. The attached images shows a normal processing of the final stack of 300 frames out of 5000 in BW. The second image is an artificially colored version of the first image. The third image is processed differently to show what is inside a large sunspot; a lot of details are visible, as it should, since the dark cores of the sunspots are actually quite bright. Hope for better seeing conditions next time, and may that be soon since the sunspot groups are steadily leaving the Earth-orientated face of the Sun. Equipment: C11 at F/20 with full aperture AstroSolar filter, ASI120MM with Baader Green CCD filter. Seeing 4-5/10.
