There is a lot going on today. There was a small flare that erupted on the western limb. You can see see the half loop prominence on the lower left of the photo. This prominence was no longer there 1 1/2 hours later.

The large central filament has quite broken apart and new AR2104/07 is crackling with activity.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
