Details:
In 1979, the Voyager 1 probe took a stunning series of images on its final approach to Jupiter that clearly showed the complex movement of the cloudbelts for the first time ever. 35 years later, almost to the day, we are 7 swedish amateur astronomers who joined in a long term project that set out to replicate this odyssey and the historical NASA-footage but with images taken with our own ground-based telescopes. We made a film about this 6 month long adventure https://vimeo.com/98291257

Thanks for posting that guys, well worth the effort and it kept me glued to the screen, what a novel idea. We can all learn something from those processing techniques.

Hello Jack and thank you for your comments.
We tried to find a good mix between explaining how we went along with the processing techniques and the aesthetics.
A film of 6 minutes is often considered long nowadays but considering that it sums up 6 month of work, I think it represents a fair balance.
Anyway we are working on a short version that might get ready later today.

Enthralling - A lot of very hard work went into that and it shows.
