Aurora Borealis
Taken by Todd Madson on June 7, 2014 @ I was driving to a point in north central Minnesota but these were so noticeable I pulled off the highway at only 38 miles north of downtown Minneapolis in tiny Stacy, MN and took the shots - you never know how long the show will last. No time for a tripod, I used the roof of my car! Unfortunately my best shots were in the beginning of the storm - as things got more intense I inadvertently pressed a setting I didn't notice in the dark and they weren't nearly as good in quality. Nikon D3200 with AF-S DX VR Zoom 18-55mm f3.5-5.6. ISO 1600. Exposures anywhere from 3-20 seconds.
