Details:
I took a series of 20 sec exposures of the starfield that included Mars, using my 300mm Canon zoom lens. In all of the images can be seen two objects that were clearly not stellar objects and which appear blue suggesting they were moving away in a southerly direction from my site at high speed. Having been unable to form any conclusions as to what the objects might be, I was hoping you might be able to provide some suggestions as to what they might be. Could it have possibly been a rocket having been launched separating from its boost motors for example? I would be interested if you are able to throw any light as to their origin.

Question: did you have a filter screwed on the 300mm lens? If so, it could just be a relection off the backside of the filter, the light coming from Mars.
