A lot of coincidences: no clouds, no moon, clear sky, Phobos and Deimos far away Mars, and Mars close to my zenith; the objects appeared very weak; Peter Rozén explained how to face the Mars' moons here in this site and I followed his steps; thank you Peter for the information, congratulations for your animations! Details: 32, 113, 70, 27, 60, 33, 115 and 60 frames of 0.0078, 0.0110, 0.0110, 0.5, 1, 2.8, 1 and 2.8 second (from left to right and from top to bottom) with newton 8 inches SW, 3x barlow, Neq6 SW mount and Meade DSI pro III camera in prime focus, from urban sky.

Thank you very much Charlie, your comment is very encouraging for me, clear skies!

Interesting that both approaches (your and Peters video and my low-noise CCD from a couple of weeks ago, see Barsoom) work for Deimos, but Phobos has so far eluded me. Still have hope for success by borrowing more deep-sky techniques rather than those usually applied to planetary surfaces, but theres no arguing with success (congrats) and this opposition is slipping away. Cheers.

Sorry, just reread your notes. You are not stacking video, rather a tall stack of individual images, which encourages me to keep at it. Cheers again.

Think that a combination of happy coincidences helped me much, an unusual good sky without moon, Phobos far away Mars just when the planet was passing close to the zenith, and perhaps a no minor fact: it was Saturday night with no need of waking up early in the morning for going to work ja! thank you David for your comments, best wishes
