Details:

After really nervous riding towards some holes in clouds here in East Cape of New Zealand me and my sister Katerina finally succeded. The sky cleared up just couple minutes after eclipse's beginning. Thanks to absolutely dark sky between Ruatoria and Tikitiki we could be witnessed by amazing southern Milky way, zodiacal bridge and Gegenschein with eclipsed Moon, Mars and Spica.

ps.......I was down there for halleys comet in 86 stars are unreal went to the observatory and met mike clark head astronomer north and south island was a blast

Well :-) You have to focus your camera and have some wide angle lenses... then put in on tripod, set high ISO (no worwies of noise - on panorama it is compressed) and then just take 10-12 images around and one of the sky... after that you use some good software for creating the panorama.

Did you process after stitching to bring out the emission nebulae, Barnards loop, etc or were you using a astro-modified camera?

Lots of questions, I know! :-)

Canon 6D is not modified, but has amazing sensitivity in case at least of shapes hydrogen nebulae, so I just choose the region with nebulae and saturate it... but still thinking about modification, because the camera is just superb for astrophotography...
