I took many time lapses and in those many time lapses I caught meteors. The first and second images are meteors near mars and Coma Berenices. The third image is a meteor near Polaris. It's looking north down the road and apart of a time lapse I took of Cassiopeia and Ursa Minor. The fourth image is of a possible fireball during a time lapse of Jupiter and Gemini. It seems to break up in the atmosphere, though not typical for this kind of fireball; after looking at images after and previous to this one, I don't see a trail having to do with this 'fireball'. If it is a satellite, it flared a few times and then went dim within 30 seconds, and crossed nearly the whole image. The fireball is seen splitting through Auriga, and there is also a bright satellite towards the top of the image. Canon 6D, f/1.4, 30 seconds, 3600 ISO.

Can anyone give me their input on whether its a satellite or a fireball?

And also, I guess my memory of the fireball image was very bad- it crosses half of the image and goes just right of Auriga, through Camelopardalis.

Hi Josh,

Good job! Josh.
Thisis Masa from Japan.

The fourth one oviously is a fireball. The others look like satellites and maybe airplane since a satellite rotates and usually dots lineup as it moves. The first two pararel long trails look like an airplane.

I see. The pararel lines in the first two photos are the lines of electricity. I noticed them from the third photo.
The image in the third photo seems satellite, but did you recognise the meteor there on time? Then it must be!

Anyway, good job!

Hi Masa,

The technique I used to determine whether they were meteors or not was to see if they were in the frames surrounding (since these are all apart of time lapses) and if they left a smoke trail. All three of these definitely left a smoke trail and didnt appear in any other images, which is why I thought they must be meteors. :) And thanks for the input on the fireball! Now I know for sure.
