Great capture!

The second image is a good example of what is known as a horseshoe vortex by cloud watchers and storm chasers. It typically occurs in a high wind shear environment when a small cumulus cloud grows upward through the shear layer. The interaction between the buoyant updraft and strongly sheared winds causes horizontal rotation to develop at the top of the cloud.
