at 3:45 pm CST on March 19, 2014 I observed a large rainbow halo around the sun. The sky was clear blue, except for inside the halo, which was a dark grey. There was also a strange red 'dot' to the southeast, at the 5 o'clock position. All of this was visible with the naked eye.
