It has been a long time coming and finally tonight after nearly two months we had auroras in the skies of Oulu. Unusually warm weather kept the cloud cover for many weeks, so I have been waiting for this moment a long time. Even though the forecast was low, I had a gut feeling we might see Northern lights in the sky and I'm beyond happy seeing the magic lights dancing in the sky. At times it was a very bright display and the snow got a shade of green. For a very brief moment there was even a corona in the sky! This photo is part of a timelapse and was taken with a Nikon D800, Nikkor 14-24mm @ ISO1250. Exposure time was 4 seconds.
