What an amazing display, by far the best I’ve seen since moving to Aberdeenshire in 2006, although not on the same scale as the Autumn 2003 storms. These shots were taken during the first wave of activity, with active rayed bands dancing in the sky. The panorama’s are both composed of 3 images taken using a Canon 6d, with a Samyang 14mm lens, f2.8, the first on was taken around 2005 UTC, with a colourful rayed band and a southward moving fragmented homogeneous band through Ursa Major, the second one, taken at 2022 UTC, reminds me of an eye looking southward, the reds at this time were clearly visible to the naked eye. The final image was taken looking east at 2031 UTC, with a bright green band extending towards the south; time-lapse imagery showed a number of these fragmenting bands moving south then breaking up overhead or just to the south of the magnetic zenith.

Correction to the above, the 3rd image is obviously looking west not east (always get my directions mixed up).
