Details:
This was the scene on a cool winter morning in southern Alberta, with the waning crescent Moon near Venus in the dawn twilight. The temperature was just -15° C, warmer than the -30° it has been the last couple of mornings. I shot this from home using a 28-105mm telephoto, a handy lens for framing conjunctions like this. The Moon and Venus were to the southeast. In the southwest shone Mars and Saturn, the subject of the other posted photo, with the two planets shining above an old abandoned farmhouse.
