I was lucky to get this shot through thick haze this morning. There was a small flare starting to spout around AR1990. Unfortunately, I could not monitor the progress of this flare as the skies clouded over.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
