This photo is just before the maximum of the light curve of supernova SN2014J that appeared in M82. This image is taken for the fineing chart of the supernova, using 135mm telephoto lens. This is Type I supernova, which is the reference light source celestial measure the distance of the galaxy. If you analyzes the shooting data of many people, you could draw the light curve like riding in textbooks. Canon EOS 5DMkII, Carl Zeiss Apo Sonnar T* 2/135, ISO=2500, 60 sec exposure.
