The best display of halos and arcs that I've ever seen! Taken late morning on 9th February 2014, east of Calgary, AB, Canada. The temperature was around -22C, with a windchill in the mid minus thirties. You could see the ice crystals shimmering in the air, it was magical. To the best of my knowledge, there was a 22° halo, a 46° halo, infralateral arcs, tangent arcs, circumzenithal arc, and parhelic circle. Photos taken with a Nikon D5100.

Nice. I have seen a display like this, missing the infralateral arcs. The display was of lower quality as the components were not as clear and the view was spoiled partly by power lines. A few weeks ago in North Bay, Ontario, I saw a display with a full parhelic circle and 120 degree parhelia. The sundogs and circumzenith arcs were amazing due to the diamond dust present, plus the usual 22 degree halo was present. Unfortunately, I was working at the time so it would have been impossible for me to photograph at the time.

I think it is more likely your 46 degree halo was a supralateral arc, due to the presence of the infralateral arc.

Thanks for the comments! After reviewing Les Cowleys diagram, I agree, it does look like its the infralateral arc, but not the 46° halo. Ill have to check the rest of the photos to see if its there.

I was photographing the same display and can confirm the 46° halo after having chatted with Les looking at the following photos

Here you can see the supralateral and infralateral arcs and a very faint 46° halo between them.

Heres a tighter shot, focussed on the edge where you can again see the very faint 46° halo between the supra and infra lateral
