Details:
During the wee hours of February 6, 2014 a massive green band had me feeling the love as it took on a heart-shape over southcentral Alaska. Perhaps a precursor to Valentine's Day? The frozen pond acted as a huge mirror and doubled the size and magnitude of this blissful all-night light display. The first break-up was at 8 pm, the second around 12 am, so I was primed and ready for this geomagnetic substorm which occurred on trend at 4:28 am (13:28 UTC).
