This supernova is very recent, and as of yesterday was determined to be a type Ic supernova and was given the official name designation of 2014L. Two supernovas in the first month of 2014- what a delight! Taken from the Siding Spring Observatory in Coonabarabran, Australia. iprime, gprime, and rprime for both images. 80 second exposures stacked in AstroImageProcessor.jar and further edited in Adobe Lightroom 5.
