Thanks for the photos. If you could and the weather permit, please take another shot of the moon and venus on January 30, 2014. This is the Chinese New Year Eve based on the thousands years old Chinese Calender. I am speculating the Chinese New Year Day was established through the smallest full moon of the year, that was 15 days ago to the smallest crescent that one can observed. Then come the Year of Horse in a 12 years cycle of animals of Chinese Calender. I picked the venus can could not pick up the Moon Crescent this morning! Thanks for the photos again.
