Details:
After a day of horrid weather (clouds at all levels, delayed flights, etc.), at around 9pm the clouds parted so I grabbed my camera and shot down to the beach and set up … just as an arc breakdown occurred! As a result, a ‘lost’ day turned good and I got to enjoy the Kp3 aurora forecast by good ol' spaceweather.com after all (a southerly Bz4 also helped). By 10.30 the clouds had rolled in again so I got an early night. An excellent start to my Iceland trip (as Stewie would say).
