Aurora
Taken by Robert Chalmas on December 31, 2013 @
After staying for one week in Tromsø without any significant aurora display, we were delighted with this nice aurora during New Years's Eve.
The observation site was about 15 km NW of the city, as its strong light pollution makes any observation almost impossible.
When we arrived around 10pm local time, a green bow reached from East to West, passing almost overhead. Then other structures appeared in the North and changed slowly. We stayed till 2 am but the aurora lasted for the full night.
Picture details: Canon EOS 650D, 10 mm lens (except fisheye picture: 4.5 mm), 1600 or 3200 ISO, 30 seconds exposures.
