Details:
Here I filmed a large solar flare breaking across AR1944. The sequence runs from 10:30 to 10:58UT just after the peak at 10:13UT. I had not intended imaging due to thin cloud cover so just stuck my DMK51 camera into PST on an alt azimuth mount and had to hand track and let the image drift through centre frame while recording. I had to correct for a total of 5.2 degrees of field rotation across these frames. Still worth a go in spite of the local conditions. More movies www.thesolarexplorer.net
