This was what I thought was a star until I used my Canon t3i with telephoto lenz slowing the shutter speed and using a tripod. The surrounding stars are still. This is what I got in the above link. Please help solve the mystery. Thank you.

possibly a LED on a kite. My neighbor did that. Was a very odd & troubling sight until I heard the fluttering of the clear plastic. After many minutes I could eventually see the kite against the background stars. Checked it all out with binoculars. The kite string even had a few LEDs strung along it as well. A few time exposures resulted in some very bizarre pics!!!

Try taking the same photo again during the same hour and see if you get the same results.
