Details:
There was a huge cloud bank that was pink and it was rippled. Like noctilucent clouds but more dense. Then there was a cloud funnel coming from it going towards the ground, like a tornado but it wasnt a tornado and it wasnt caused by wind because the air was perfectly still. Pictures taken with a fuji finepix

this looks like the beginning of a Punch Hole cloud (Google it for info)
is there an air base nearby?

No airbases but there are 3 airports nearby and Im directly beneath their flightpaths. There are some images on google that look similar to mine, thanks for that.
