I had nearly perfect seeing conditions at 6300 feet, and after the Moon set at 5:03 AM. With a little bit of processing (DSS and Photoshop), here is a double stack of fifteen 30-second exposures of Comet Lovejoy this morning (12/15/2013), from 5:33 to 5:43 AM MST. The tail extends beyond the field of view. ISO3200, 450 seconds, SVQ100 f5.8 astrograph, with Nikon D600. Red suppressed. Center (RA, Dec): (250.061, 30.903) Center (RA, hms): 16h 40m 14.731s Center (Dec, dms): +30° 54' 09.307" Size: 2.99 x 2.01 deg Radius: 1.803 deg Pixel scale: 2.12 arcsec/pixel Orientation: Up is 115 degrees E of N
