Before dawn of December 14, 2013, ZHAN Xiang from Beijing Planetarium and his friends came to the outskirts of Beijing to observe the 2013 GEM meteor shower. The shower was very spectacular! In this picture, the building on the bottom is a Great Wall's beacon tower, on the center-right lies the comet C/2013 R1 Lovejoy, on the centre-left lies the Hercules globe cluster M13, and on top-right lies a bright GEM meteor. There are several satellites in this picture also. This picture is taken by Canon 650D + 50 mm lens + Vixen Polarie, ISO 1600, f/2.2, 30 seconds exposure.
