Comet Lovejoay with M13
Taken by Miroslaw Fröhlich on December 13, 2013 @
After disappointing from Comet ISON, it is now the time from Comet Lovejoy. It is the real X-Mas comet. Difficult to see with unaided eye (but it's possible) it is a really fantastic object for photography.
Just in the morning are the best conditions to take a look or shot of Comet Lovejoy.
I decided in the morning @ 3am to drive 100 kilometers for this one picture of it. It was the money and time worth. The tail in the image is about 5 degrees long.
To document the tail you can use small focal length and short exposures. I have used 200mm a Canon 5d Mark III @ ISO6400 f/3,5 and 28 x 90 seconds exposures. All the things were mounted on the astrotrac.
It is really simple to take pictures like this.
You have just to wake up early in the morning.
