Details:
We (a German speaking travel group) are currently traveling on the Hurtigruten costal steamer MS Finnmarken along the Norwegian coast hunting the aurora. This night when we stopped in Svolvær on the Lofoten islands, a few of us hiked 2.5 kilometers to reach a dark spot away from the lights of the harbour. Our efforts were well rewarded with a brilliant sight. We observed a spectacular aurora show that almost outshone the waxing moon! Our tour guest were very happy to have witnessed this display.
