Details:
It was rather chilly at 3-4am this morning but I needed a comet fix after ISON bit the dust. These 2 photos appear to show some evidence of the tail but I am not 100% sure the "tail" does appear to be in the right direction and does appear on several of my photos, yet on others I cannot see it despite using the same settings. Most of the amazing photos I see are stacked images, they look stunning but sometimes I wonder if its more about showing the skills of the photographer rather than a true representation of what you can see with your eye. It's not a bad thing and if I knew how to do stacking I would give it a go! As yet I cannot figure out how to do stacking, I have the program deep sky stacker but its just a bit complicated for me! so these are just simple unguided 15 second exposures with a fairly basic camera, not a DSLR and I wonder if the tail would indeed show up on that kind of photo or if it is some kind of camera sensor anomaly
