Very difficult with 23 degree temperatures this morning. But could see about 3 degrees of the comets tail. Comet Lovejoy in a rough wide field panorama composite of three manually stitched images from Jonsrud Point Sandy Oregon . at 6:19 AM PST. All are roughly 45 seconds time exposure at ISO 6400 with a Sony NEX5; 18mm ~ 55mm at f/4.5. The comet is seen midway at near center as a green glowing spot with a several degree tail to upper left. At right is the bright star Arcturas, at left a possible early Geminid Meteor seems to point at the comet. art & photography by mark seibold ©2013 all rights reserved
