Details:
During our recent three day trip to Southern Iceland, even though the auroras were strong in the northern hemisphere they seemed to only be strong over America. The first two nights even though we received multiple alerts the lights just weren't visible over Iceland Then came the last night! The lights arrived around 11:00 pm and stayed around until 3:00 am. They band of light was very think, however no curtaining. I pushed my d800 with 14-24 to 5000 ISO and used a 30 sec exposure and was delighted to see some red auroras in the results
