ISON who? Comet Lovejoy looks amazing right now. Its much brighter and its tail is much longer than I expected. The zoomed out is cropped (around 25%) 50mm and its tail is at least faintly visible almost halfway to Alkaid (the bright star on left - last star of Big Dipper). Also, considering Alkaid is magnitude 1.85, I am guessing that Lovejoy is in the magnitude 3 range. The other image is 250mm uncropped (the tail is faintly visible crossing out of frame at the top).
