Details:
Waiting for Ison to appear, I observed comet Lovejoy with a 100mm binocular and got some truely fantastic views. At 05h (local time) I could spot comet Ison at only 4° above the horizon. At 06h , just as the sky started to brighten, I took a series of images showing comet Ison at the upper right, above Spica and Mercury at the lower left of the picture. Canon Eos5DMkII with 70-200/f2.8 zoom and an iOptron SkyTracker.
